Change the World

From time to time we hear suggestions that we save our pocket change and use it to help with certain causes.  While wrapping several rolls of coins, I realized that there really is potential in our pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.

Here's what we can do:

1) Remove all coins from our pocket/purse at the end of each day and place them in special containers on the dresser.  (Yes, we could use the change the next time we went to the store, but that is not the point.)

2) When enough change has accumulated, wrap it and take it to the bank.   (If several people decide to do this together, designate someone for this task.)

3) Send the money to a worthy cause.

Here are some suggested recipients:
1. local/area needs - Bible camps, state fair booth conducted by various congregations.
2. world-wide needs (click here to learn more)

Please note that this effort has nothing to do with our regular contributions.  It is simply recognition of the fact that we waste more that most people make.

Regular giving involves purpose and sacrifice (2 Corinthians 8 and 9).
