INSTRUCTIONS
Note:
1) These instructions may not be exact, depending on your computer security
settings.
2) If you plan on saving to your hard drive, you must first create a folder for storing
the files. From the desktop (the screen that you use when your computer first starts
up) double click on "My Computer" and then double click on the C: drive.
Go to File/New/Folder to create a new folder. DO NOT TOUCH THE MOUSE BUTTONS UNTIL
COMPLETING THE NEXT STEP.* Simply start typing a name for the new folder. (Use
"files" if you can't think of anything else.) Now you can use your mouse,
again.
*(If you do, find the new folder...called "New Folder"...and click on it to highlight it. Go to File/Rename and then simple start typing a name for the new folder.)
These files must be saved to a folder on your computer or viewed with WordPad© and then saved. (Netscape© may only allow you to save it unless you have loaded the correct plug-in.) In either case, the first step is to click on the file name.
If you want to read the file, just select the circle beside "Open it" and then click on "OK." Your computer will start WordPad© and then open the file.
If you want to save the file, select "Save it to disk" and then click on "OK." Your computer will start the download and then ask where you want to save the file. Click on the arrow beside the "save in" window and select the spot where you want to put the file.
If you want to save to a floppy disk, select "3 1/2 floppy (A:)" and then "Save."
If you want to save to your hard drive, select the C: drive and then choose the correct folder. (If you followed the suggestion above, that folder will be called "files.")
